Symptoms of Clubfoot
The foot of the child with clubfoot is twisted inward with the toes pointing down.Some of the common features of clubfoot include-
- The heel is pointed away from the body and is drawn upwards.
- The foot is twisted in towards the other foot.
- The toes are pointed down.
- Tightening of the Achilles tendon (the tendon that connects the calf muscle to the bone) is present.
- The affected foot and leg will be stiff and smaller in size, when compared to a normal child.
- The calf muscle may be smaller than normal and underdeveloped.
- Lack of ankle joint motion may be present.
- The affected foot may have a higher-than-normal arch.
