Heat Stroke - Symptoms
What are the Symptoms of Heat Stroke?
Raised body temperature, flushed dry skin, confusion, and breathing difficulty are some of the symptoms of heat stroke.
Heat stroke symptoms are as follows-
- Raised body temperature with hot and flushed dry skin. If heat stroke is caused by physical exertion the skin is usually moist
- Headaches
- Dizziness
- Confusion
- Restlessness
- Disorientation
- Delirium
- Coma
- The rate of breathing is high and is usually shallow, intermittent or strenuous
- Temperature within the mouth may increase beyond 108 �F
- Bleeding episodes from the nose may occur
- The pulse may remain strong and rapid
- The blood pressure is usually normal. A fall in blood pressure might indicate a more serious life-threatening situation called shock. This is a condition where there is reduced circulation of blood within the body that can ultimately lead to death.
Death can be due to kidney failure, heart attack or due to lung complications.
