Prostate: Gland of the male genital system that secretes an alkaline fluid that forms semen.

External urethral sphincter: Muscular sphincter surrounding the urethra that helps in voluntary control of urine flow.


Radical prostatectomy: Surgery to remove the prostate and its surrounding tissues.

Transurethral resection of prostate: Surgical procedure to remove the prostate that is performed through the urethra.
