Anthrax Disinfectant Discovered

A substance that can abolish anthrax bacteria within seconds and could revolutionize the fight against bioterrorism has been discovered by Austrian scientists.

The spray acts as an anthrax disinfectant, killing the spores found on envelopes and on skin surfaces including the nose, said Mr. Apostolos Geoargopolous, Vienna General Hospital.

If it passes tests by Austrian health authorities, the spray could create a revolution in the treatment of suspicious powders which arrive at government offices, media centers and airports across the world since the attacks on September 11th.

While anthrax scares currently employ in evacuation of the entire building , the new spray could decontaminate the room where a suspicious powder is found without affecting the rest of the building, according to the Austrian health officials.
