Why is Calfactant Prescribed? (Indications)
This medication is an intratracheal suspension, prescribed for the prevention of respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) in premature infants. Since it is similar to the natural fluid in the lungs, it helps in normal lung functions.When should Calfactant not be taken? (Contraindications)
Hypersensitivity.What is the dosage of Calfactant?
The recommended dose is 3 mL/kg birth weight. It has been administered every 12 hours for a total of up to 3 doses.How should Calfactant be taken?
