This medication is an antiviral agent, prescribed for HIV infection with other antiviral agents. It is a protease inhibitor and blocks the enzyme activity. This medication slows down the spread of virus in the body.When should Darunavir not be taken? (Contraindications)
Hypersensitivity, co- administering with other medications will cause life-threatening reactions.♦It should not be administered in pediatric patients below 3 years of age.
What is the dosage of Darunavir?
Adult: initial: 800 mg (two 400 mg tablets) taken with ritonavir 100 mg once daily with food. Maintenance: 600mg taken with ritonavir 100 mg twice daily with food. Child: Dose is based on body weight of the child.How should Darunavir be taken?
