Why is Rilonacept Prescribed? (Indications)

This medication is an interleukin-1 (IL-1) blocker, prescribed for Cryopyrin-Associated Periodic Syndromes ((CAPS) - inherited auto-inflammatory conditions) including Familial Cold Autoinflammatory Syndrome (FCAS) and Muckle-Wells Syndrome ((MWS) autosomal dominant disease).

What is the dosage of Rilonacept?

Adult- SC- The recommended loading dose is 160mg twice a day in different sites. Maintenance: 160 mg as single 2 mL injections.
Child- SC- The recommended loading dose is 4.4mg/kg.
