This medication is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent (NSAIA), prescribed for pain and inflammation in muscles and joints. It works by blocking a substance in the body called cyclo-oxygenase.

When should Tenoxicam not be taken? (Contraindications)

Contraindicated in patients with peptic ulcer, heart failure, asthma, during pregnancy (3rd trimester) and hypersensitivity.

What is the dosage of Tenoxicam?

Adult: PO- 20 mg/day as single dose for 7 days in acute disorders, up to 14 days in severe cases. Max: 40 mg/day (short term use).
IV/IM- 20 mg/day as single dose for 1-2 days.
