This medication is an active immunization against typhoid fever caused by the bacterium Salmonella typhi. It stimulates the body to produce antibodies against typhoid fever. Prescribed for children greater than 6 years of age.When should Typhoid Vaccine Live not be taken? (Contraindications)
Contraindicated in patients with history of acute febrile illness or acute intestinal infection, allergic reactions and known hypersensitivity to the vaccine.What is the dosage of Typhoid Vaccine Live?
Adult: Take 1 capsule on alternate days (day 1, 3 and 5) for a total of 3 doses; all doses should be completed at least 1 week before potential exposure.Booster immunization: Repeat full course of primary immunization every 5 years if exposure continues.
Child: ≥6 years: Take 1 capsule on alternate days (day 1, 3 and 5) for a total of 3 doses; all doses should be completed at least 1 week before potential exposure.
