When and How to Take Levetiracetam
- Levetiracetam is available in the form of a solution, an immediate-release and extended-release tablet and a tablet for suspension to be taken orally.
- The solution, immediate-release tablet and tablet for suspension are usually given twice daily, either with or without meals, in the morning and at night.
- The extended-release tablets are usually taken once daily with or without food.
- Swallow the tablets as a whole instead of crushing, chewing or breaking them.
- Take the medication at the same time every day for better results.
- Follow the directions exactly as given on the prescription label.
- Do not exceed or skip a dose. If you miss it, take the medication as soon as it is remembered.
