When and How to Take Oxcarbazepine

  • Oxcarbazepine is available in the form of a tablet, an extended-release tablet and a suspension to be taken orally.
  • The tablet and suspension are usually taken every 12 hours, with or without food.
  • The extended-release tablet is usually taken once daily, either one hour before or two hours after a meal, on an empty stomach.
  • Swallow the extended-release tablets with plenty of water, one at a time.
  • Take the medication at the same time every day for better results.
