How to Take Amlodipine and it's Dose


It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with or without food.

Dosage & When it is to be taken

Adults- PO- The usual initial dose is 5 mg once daily with a maximum dose of 10 mg once daily.
Children- 6 to 17 years- The effective dose is 2.5 mg to 5 mg once daily.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)

Hypersensitivity.

This medication is a calcium channel blocker, prescribed for high blood pressure and chest pain.
