Side effect(s) of Avapritinib

  • General: Fatigue, swelling of lower legs or hands

  • Skin: Rash, hair color changes
  • Eye: watery eyes
  • Other Precautions :

    • Patients with intracranial bleeding should be careful while using avapritinib
    • Cognitive abnormalities can occur. Depending on abnormalities, dose should be adjusted.
    • In females of reproductive age and who may get pregnant, proper contraceptives should be used during the treatment and for one week after the last dose is administered.
    • In males with female partners proper contraceptives should be used during the treatment to prevent pregnancy as the drug can cause fetal harm.
