Side effect(s) of Ipriflavone

Other Precautions :

• Patients with severe kidney disease should take a lower amount of ipriflavone (200 to 400 mg per day).

• Use with caution in patients with severe liver and blood disorders.

• Monitor kidney, liver and blood parameters periodically when using the drug.

Drug Name : Ipriflavone

Ipriflavone generic Ipriflavone is used for the prevention and treatment of weak bones in postmenopausal women, and for relieving pain associated with osteoporosis. The drug promotes the incorporation of calcium into bones and inhibitis bone breakdown, thus maintaining bone density and preventing osteoporosis. Ipriflavone is also used for the treatment of Paget's disease (a disease that disrupts the replacement of old bone tissue with new tissue. Ipriflavone helps in building bone mass by possibly slowing down the action of bone-eroding cells called osteoclasts and allowing bone-building cells called osteoblasts to build up bone mass. Ipriflavone is derived from the soy isoflavone called daidzein. It decreases abnormal electrical activity in the brain.
