Side effect(s) of Isatuximab


Review the side-effects of Isatuximab as documented in medical literature. The term "side effects" refers to unintended effects that can occur as a result of taking the medication. In majority of the instances these side-effects are mild and easily tolerable, however sometimes they can be more severe and can be detrimental.

•General: Infusion-related reactions, low white blood cell count
•Digestive: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
•Respiratory: Pneumonia, upper respiratory tract infection, dyspnea, or difficulty in breathing

Other Precautions :

•Infusion-related reactions can occur. If a reaction occurs, the infusion must be discontinued.
•In women who are in child bearing age, proper contraceptives should be used as it can cause fetal harm
•Monitor blood cell counts periodically during treatment, especially neutrophil (A kind of white blood cell)
•Monitor patients for the development of second primary malignancies (cancers).

Isatuximab is an anticancer agent indicated for the treatment of adults with multiple myeloma. Mutiple myeloma is a type of cancer that affects the plasma cells of the white blood cell.
