Fussy Infant or Infantile Colic

Colic refers to abdominal pain of intestinal origin, but the term is a misnomer and includes moderate to severe and otherwise unexplained bouts of crying usually in infants between the age of 3 weeks and 3 months. There is no identifiable cause. The typical pattern is that of usually a calm and placid infant who suddenly screams, draws knees up on to the abdomen, and may pass flatus or feces. An episode can last 10 min to 2 hours.
