It’s time to be active as the World Health Organization(WHO) commemorates May 10th as the World Move for Health Day. It emphasizes the importance of being physically active and making it a part of our everyday lives.
WHO recommends 150 minutes of intense physical activity weekly for adults and 60 minutes of the same for children. It is easy to be active daily by doing simple everyday tasks.
Cycle to your nearby market instead of using a car or a bike. Clean your house and invest ample time for gardening. Take the stairs and refrain from lifts. Use public transportation and take a stroll daily with your loved one.
Choose activities that you love and can regularly do. Keep changing it every 10 minutes. Being physically active wards off the risk of diabetes, hypertension, heart attack and even cancer.
