AMSTERDAM, November 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
India's domestic food market is seeing huge growth. The market is expected to reach US$ 258 billion by the end of this year and is projected to grow at a rate of 104%, reaching US$ 482 billion by 2020. Northern India in particular is seeing a large growth due to government support and incentives and a lot of agricultural diversity. In recent years a number of large international food parks have been set up and they host multinationals such as Pepsi Co, Nestle, Reckitt Benckisser and Perfetti. The food processing industry is a high priority sector for a majority of Northern Indian states and the sector is expected to continue to grow and prosper in the coming years.

To date, Fi India has only been held in Mumbai, which mainly targets the Western region of India. However in order to take advantage of the growth in the North we are excited to announce that in 2016, Fi India & Hi will take place in New Delhi, and will then annually rotate between Mumbai and New Delhi. This rotation will give our exhibitors the opportunity to grow their businesses in both Western and Northern India.
The 10th edition of Fi India & Hi, which took place last month (19-21 October) in Mumbai was the most successful edition to date, with more than 150 exhibitors and 6,500 visitors from around the world. The event was supported by a large amount of high level industry partners including; The Ministry of Food Processing Industry (MOFPI) , The Association of Food Scientists and Technologists (AFSTI), All India Food Processors' Association (AIFPA), Health Food & Dietary Supplements Association (HADSA) and Assocom Institute of Bakery Technology & Management (AIBTM)
Some of the highlights from last month's show include the Expo FoodTec Pavillion, which is a new platform for the food, technology, processing and packaging industry. A two day "Basics of Bakery Modernisation" workshop, which was made up of a series of seminars and demonstrations and the Innovation Product Zone and the Innovative Product Awards which highlighted some of the great innovations in the industry.
