LANCASTER, Pa., Dec. 10 The Keystone Alliance for Performance Excellence (KAPE) 2010 Award cycle is now open. This is KAPE's fifth year of using the process to help Pennsylvania business, health care, education, and non-profit organizations improve their strategies, performance, and competitive edge. Organizations interested in participating must submit a Letter of Intent by January 8, 2010. KAPE Award applications are due by March 19, 2010.

The process includes low-cost organizational assessments based on the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence, offering a non-prescriptive, common-sense approach to addressing an organization's unique challenges. All Award applicants receive customized feedback reports, as well as recognition at KAPE's annual Performance Excellence Conference and Awards Banquet.

Applications are also open for the KAPE Board of Examiners. Examiners receive free training in how to use the Baldrige Criteria, and serve on teams to determine applicant organizations' strengths and opportunities for improvement. Past examiners have described their KAPE experience as a "mini MBA" and an important addition to their personal career and learning objectives. Examiner applications are due by January 18, 2010.
