The eHealthcare Leadership Awards program, now in its ninth year, isconducted by eHealthcare Strategy & Trends (www.strategichealthcare.com), aleading Internet newsletter and online healthcare marketing resource. Over1,100 healthcare organizations, online healthcare companies, pharmaceuticalfirms, and business-improvement sites submitted entries this year.

An independent panel of judges evaluated all website submissions in 12distinct categories, rating them according to as many as 40 different measuresof Internet excellence and comparing them alongside other entrants ofcomparable type, size, and resources. The winners were announced at theTwelfth Annual Healthcare Internet Conference, held November 10-12, 2008, inOrlando, Fla.

Judging criteria for the Best Health/Healthcare Content-Physician/Clinician-Focused Site category included an assessment of thecontent to determine how extensive, balanced, up-to-date, well-organized, andcredible it is. The Web site entrants were also rated on their utility fordifferent practitioners in many treatment areas. MedPage Today scored highlyon all of these metrics.
