Use of Antibiotics Can Prevent Drug Toxicity And Resistance

Using combination chemotherapy unnecessarily will reduce drug toxicity as well as lead to the development of resistance. On the other hand, refraining from use of carbapenem antibiotics in ''low risk'' patients with bloodstream infections, will help to decrease drug resistance, according to two separate presentations at the 27th European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ECCMID) conducted by the International INCREMENT project.
