First Ever DNA Vaccine Against Dengue Soon a Reality
The development of DNA vaccines is a radically new approach to vaccination that is based on in-situ (inside the body) production of antigens. Monovalent vaccine pVAX1-D1ME and bivalent vaccine pVAX1-D1ME -pVAX1-D2ME showed protective induction of D1 and D2 serotypes of dengue virus. Researchers from Capital Medical University, Beijing, had conducted the study that paves the way for the development of tetravalent DNA vaccines against all four serotypes of dengue virus in humans.
