Natural Source for Drug Discovery

Drug discovery is a process by which new drugs are discovered. Fungi could be a rich source of natural molecules, however pharmaceutical companies have been pushed away from tapping the resources. A team of scientists from Northwestern University, University of Wisconsin-Madison and the biotech company has been found to develop technologies that use analytics to screen for molecules that are produced by molds to find new drugs, mainly penicillin.
