Opioid Dependence Reduced With Failed Osteoarthritis Drug

A drug that was proved safe for people helped to prevent opioid addiction and tolerance when it was combined with opioid-pain drugs, shows a study conducted at Indiana University. Scientists at Linda and Jack Gill Center for Biomolecular Science at IU Bloomington found that a compound which was tested to treat osteoarthritis blocked the neuropathic pain and reduced opioid dependence.
