Effects of Starchy Carbohydrates in Prediabetics

Eating foods rich in starch and sugar in the evening increases blood glucose levels in men with pre-diabetes but in healthy adults, the timing of a carbohydrate meal did not matter. Prediabetes is when the person has blood glucose levels above normal, ie, between 100 - 125 mg/dl but not high enough to be termed as diabetic. Pre-diabetes is a condition in which the individual is at an increased risk for diabetes but by changing their lifestyle, the risk can be reduced.
