Rice Pakvannam

Ingredients

  • Rice granules – 1 cup
  • Green gram granules - ¼ teaspoons
  • Ghee - 2 tsp
  • Mustard -1 tsp
  • Pepper - 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Water - 5 cups

Preparation

  • Heat the ghee in a shallow tawa.
  • Add mustard seeds and let it pop.
  • Add powdered pepper and cumin seeds.
  • Add curry leaves.
  • Now add water and let the salt dissolve in it.
  • When it begins to boil, add granule rice (rava like) and hulled green gram.
  • Mix and sauté it.
  • Cook till it gains a thick consistency.
  • Serve hot
