Warts


A wart is a small hard lump, with a rough texture that appears usually on a person’s hands and feet. Warts are caused by a virus called the human papillipoma virus. There are different types of warts – common warts, plantar warts, flat warts, Filiform warts and Periungual warts. Warts can grow anywhere on the body. They are most common among children and young adults.

Tip 1:

Raw potato has been used as a natural remedy for treating warts. Cut a fresh raw white potato and rub on the warts several times a day.

Apple cider vinegar works wonders for removing warts. Dab a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar and apply on the wart, then cover it with a duct tape and leave it overnight. Repeat this for a few weeks.

Various oils such as castor oil, lavender oil, lemongrass oil or clove oil are good home remedies for removing warts. Rub the oil on the warts every day for several months. This will help with healing and restoration of the skin.

Aloe Vera is a natural herb that has been used in many skin treatments. The juice extract from the plant is very effective in treating warts. You can take the juice internally or apply it externally on the warts.

A healthy immune system can fight against viruses efficiently. Since warts are caused by a viral infection, consuming foods high in Vitamin C such as broccoli, kale, strawberries, oranges and so on can help boost the body’s immune system and prevent warts.

Banana peel is another natural remedy for treating warts. Rub the banana peel into the affected area 2- 3 times a day or place the peel on the affected area of the skin and use adhesive bandage to cover it. Leave for 8- 12 hours or overnight and remove the bandage. This remedy may take longer time to get rid of warts, but it works effectively.

Tip 7:

Cut a fresh clove of garlic and slice in two halves. Rub the garlic on the warts and cover the area with a medical tape, then leave the bandage overnight. Repeat this remedy daily till the infection goes away.

Duct tape is a widely used home remedy for removing warts. Place a piece of duct tape onto the affected area for several days and once it falls off replace with another tape. Repeat this remedy till the warts come away when you peel off the tape.
