Endometriosis: A benign (not life-threatening) condition in which tissue that looks like endometrial tissue grows in abnormal places in the abdomen.

Hysterectomy: is the surgical removal of the uterus.

Estrogen: A female hormone produced in the ovaries.

Hysteroscopy: Visualization of the cavity of the uterus using a lighted magnifying instrument.

Uterine Fibroids: Fibroids are common, benign tumors of smooth muscle in the uterus. Uterine fibroids are the most common reason for performing a hysterectomy.

Adenomyoma: It is a benign condition of the uterus in which the mucous membrane lining the inside of the uterus, grows into the uterine musculature.

Endometrial Polyp: They are growths from the lining of the uterus.

Menopause: The time of life when a woman's menstrual periods stop permanently. Also called "change of life."

Menorrhagia: Increased menstrual flow.
