Glossary

Blood vessel: This refers to any channel carrying blood like the arteries, capillaries, and veins.

Hypertension: This is a condition of high blood pressure.

Stroke: A sudden severe condition that results from injury to the brain or spinal cord because of a blood clot or hemorrhage or narrowed artery that results in inadequate blood supply to the brain. A stroke causes sudden and often permanent paralysis and speech impairment.
