Trimester: The nine months of pregnancy is divided into full trimesters of 3 months each by doctors.PET Scan: Positron emission tomography scan. A computerized image of the metabolic activity of the body tissues used to determine the presence of disease.
Bone Scan: A technique to create images of bones on a computer screen or on film. A small amount of radioactive material is injected into a blood vessel and travels through the bloodstream; it collects in the bones and is detected by a scanner.
CT Scan: Coaxial tomographic scan is an advanced scanning device.
Lymph Node: Round, oval or bean-shaped aggregation of infection-and cancer-fighting immune cells located along the lymph channels throughout the body.
Preterm: Delivered/born before 37 completed weeks since the last normal menstrual period of a pregnancy.
