Endometrium: The inner lining of the uterusEndometriosis: A benign condition in which tissue that looks like endometrial tissue grows in abnormal places in the abdomen.
Estrogen: A female hormone produced in the ovaries.
Fallopian Tubes: Tubes through which an egg travels from the ovary to the uterus.
Gonadotropin- Releasing Hormone Agonist: Medical therapy used to block the effects of certain hormones.
Infertility: A condition in which a couple has been unable to conceive after 12 months despite frequent sex without the use of any form of birth control
Inflammation: Pain, swelling, redness, and irritation of tissues in the body.
Laparoscopy: Examination of the peritoneum through a lighted instrument.
Rectum: The lowermost part of the digestive tract which is connected to the exterior of the body through the anus.
Stem cell: Cells that gives rise to a lineage of cells. Particularly used to describe the most primitive cells in the bone marrow from which all the various types of blood cell are derived.
Hysterectomy: An operation in which the uterus is removed.
Imperforate hymen: A membrane covering the opening of the vagina that does not have an opening
