What are the Symptoms of Kidney Stones?
The hallmark feature of kidney stones is severe pain in the back or abdomen. This pain is often referred to as renal colic. Kidney stones that obstruct the ureter or renal pelvis cause excruciating, intermittent pain that radiates from the flank to the groin or to the genital area and inner thigh. This may be accompanied by nausea and vomiting.
Other symptoms include:
- Urinary urgency
- Fever
- Chills
- Hematuria
