Autoimmune: When the immune system (body’s defense system) mistakes the self’s body tissues as foreign and attacks them, it results in an autoimmune disease.Antibody: A protein complex used by the immune system to identify and neutralize foreign objects, such as viruses and bacteria. Each antibody is specific to a foreign object or antigen.
Hormone: A chemical substance produced by an organ that influences the functioning of other organs when transmitted by the bloodstream.
