Kyphosis cannot be prevented in all cases. However, there are ways to prevent its development.

  •  Follow certain habits like maintaining good posture, good diet and exercise.
  •  Periodical weight check- up and adequate intake of calcium in diet can reduce the risk of osteoporosis and spine fractures that can cause kyphosis.

Kyphosis present from birth is not preventable, but it is possible to detect and treat it early to avoid complications later.

Simple Exercise for Kyphosis.

With your hands on your waist, stand straight, bend backwards, arching your back as far as you can comfortably maintain your balance. Hold for three to five seconds and repeat.

To maintain a good posture.

Be consciousness of maintaining an erect posture in all your activities

Strengthen your abdominal and back muscles by means of exercise

Use a chair with good back support
