Larynx: The voice box, the glottis, the vocal apparatus.Laryngitis: An inflammation of the larynx (voice box) usually caused by infection and resulting in hoarseness.
Hoarseness: Interference of the normal working of the vocal cords in the larynx (voice box) resulting in a rough, husky, or croaking voice.
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease: Food or liquid regurgitating from the stomach into the food pipe.
Epiglottis: The flap that covers the trachea during swallowing so that food does not enter the lungs.
