Bone marrow transplant (BMT): Procedure to replace unhealthy bone marrow with healthy marrow from a matching donor.Hydrocephalus: Abnormal accumulation of fluid in the brain mostly seen in young children. This can lead to an enlarged head with brain damage.
Hydrops fetalis: Abnormal accumulation of fluid in two or more body areas. This condition is seen in fetuses and newborn infants.
Umbilical cord blood transplant (UCBT): Another procedure to replace unhealthy bone marrow with healthy marrow. However, in this procedure, cryopreserved umbilical cord blood from unrelated neonatal donors is used.
