Alopecia: Sudden hair loss on the scalp that occurs in circular patches that can overlap.Angular Stomatitis (or Cheilosis): Inflammation with small cracks at the corners of the mouth.
Anorexia Nervosa: Eating disorder where the patient is obsessive about weight gain and regulation of their food intake.
Dermatitis: Inflammatory rash in which the skin becomes red, itchy and scaly.
Hartnup Disease: Also known as "pellagra like dermatosis", it is a genetic metabolic disorder involving the tryptophan metabolism pathway.
NAD: Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide.
NADP: Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate.
Tryptophan: An essential amino acid that is a precursor of serotonin and melatonin.
Wernicke’s Syndrome: Encephalopathy resulting from severe acute thiamine (vitamin B1) deficiency.
