- Diabetes mellitus
- Iron deficiency
- Spinal cord tumor
- Spinal cord injury
- Sleep apnea syndrome
- Narcolepsy
- Uremia
- Anemia
- Medications – Such as
- Anti-depressants
- Lithium
- Dopamine-receptor antagonists
- (e.g., some anti-nausea medications)
Withdrawal from sedative medications such as barbiturates or benzodiazepines (such as Valium)
