Asbestosis: A condition where the lungs are scarred by inhaled asbestos fibres. It is irreversible.Ascites: Abnormal collection of fluid in the abdomen.
Chills: A feeling of coldness accompanied by shivering.
Congestive heart failure (CHF): A condition in which the heart fails to work adequately as a pump that can deliver oxygen rich blood to the body
Decubitus: Lying down
Dialysis: The process of purifying the blood by passing it through a special machine in kidney failure patients.
Empyema: The presence of pus in the pleural space
Hemoptysis: Spitting or coughing up blood or bloody-stained sputum.
Lactate dehydrogenase: (LDH) An enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of lactate to pyruvate.
Peritoneal dialysis: It is a technique of removing wastes from the body in kidney failure patients by inserting fluid through a tube in the abdomen.
