Menstruation: The monthly ovulation cycle of women, also called periods.Premenstrual: One to two weeks before menstruation is called as the premenstrual phase.
Menopause: Marks the cessation of menstrual periods in women between the ages of 45 and 55.
Peri-menopause: The phase when women’s menstrual cycle becomes irregular more so during the ages between 35 and 50.
Diuretic: A medicine which helps the body flush out water.
Estrogen: Significant female hormone secreted in the body which causes breasts to develop, stimulates the release of the mature egg each month and also conditions the uterus for pregnancy.
Progesterone: A hormone produced by the body in the final two weeks of the menstrual cycle, which readies the uterus for implantation of the egg.
Hysterectomy: Surgery which involves the removal of the uterus performed by a gynecologist.
