Myths about SleepWalking
It is generally believed that there is a risk of violence if a sleepwalker is awakened. This is simply not true; somnambulists will often be confused or disoriented when awakened, so it is best not to wake them. Instead, it is best to talk to them gently and persuade them to return to bed without waking them up.
Another popular myth is that somnambulists cannot fall or injure themselves while sleepwalking. This, again, is not true. Falls and injuries are common occurrences during Sleepwalking.
