How can we diagnose Spondylosis ?
In order to understand the nature and extent of the disease, the following investigations may be required
X-RAYS - This is to examine the condition of the neck bone.
MYELOGRAM - This is to highlight the condition of the spinal cord and the nerves, by injecting a special dye into the spine.
CT SCAN - Computerized Tomographic Scan It is an advanced method of scanning a body region in thin sections using X-ray radiation. This is more useful in examining bony tissues.
MRI - Magnetic resonance imaging is an advanced method of scanning, which does not use X-ray radiation to scan tissues. It is useful for soft tissue scanning.
EMG - Electromyography is a test used to diagnose impaired muscle strength.
The last three tests are advanced methods of diagnosis in chronic nerve root compressions and many other acute conditions.
