Sudden Infant Death Syndrome strikes suddenly and silently, usually at night. Typically, a peacefully sleeping baby simply never wakes up. In most cases, no cause is ever found.

Facing the death of a child can be the most distressing and overwhelming emotion. For a mother, loosing a baby is the most devastating personal tragedy. Parents are often torn by guilt as well as grief. But SIDS can occur no matter how much you love and protect your baby. For the present, SIDS remains a mystery.

There has been continuous research taking place in the many hospitals to unveil the cause of SIDS. For now, the final truth is ever elusive and it will take time before it is nailed once and for all. Perhaps then we may get to the bottom of this terrible problem that sometimes runs in families.
