Bacteria: Microorganisms, some of which can cause infections.Bacterial vaginosis: An infection of the vagina caused by an overgrowth of the normal bacteria, which leads to an increased vaginal discharge.
Douching: Cleaning the vagina with force using water or commercially available medicated solutions.
Estrogen: A female hormone produced by the ovaries. Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) – A virus that causes AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome).
Immunodeficiency: Decreased immune response.
Infection: Excessive growth of microorganisms within the body.
Inflammation: Reaction of the body to infection with features of redness, warmth, swelling and pain.
Itching: Scratchy sensation
Post-menopausal: After the menstrual periods permanently stop.
Tampon: A tampon is a pack used to plug the vagina.
