Perfusion: The process of a body delivering blood to the capillary bed in its tissue.Scarring of cardiac muscle: Also called myocardial scarring. Scarring is the replacement of normal tissue destroyed by injury or disease and the consequent lack of blood supply to the part of cardiac tissue.
Cerebral: Pertaining to the cerebrum, the largest portion of the brain, consisting of two large masses called cerebral hemispheres.
Radioactive: Elements having an imbalance in the number of protons and neutrons. This makes them unstable and they degenerate spontaneously.
Tomography: Tomography is the imaging by sections using a penetrating wave. The tomograph machine is used and image called tomogram is produced. It is a non-invasive technique.
Tomographic reconstruction: Using the tomogram, the computer uses a mathematical basis for tomographic imaging. These images are consolidated and reconstructed to be displayed in the computer monitor.
Parathyroid adenoma: A benign tumor of the parathyroid gland.
Ectopic mediastinal adenomas: Parathyroid adenomas that are located in the chest, outside the gland.
