Contraindications of Gastroscopy

Gastroscopy should not be done in the presence of the following conditions -

• Heart attack
• Low oxygen content of the blood
• Low blood pressure, regardless of etiology
• Massive upper GI bleeding with low blood pressure where emergency surgery is necessary
• Uncontrolled hypertension
