Flavivirus: Single-stranded RNA virus that belongs to the family Flaviviridae.Aedes aegypti: Mosquito of the Aedes genus which is a principal vector of dengue.
Incubation period: The time gap between exposure to mosquito bite and the onset of the symptoms.
μL: Microliter an SI unit of fluid measure equal to 10−6 liters.
Arthralgia: Pain in a joint.
Myalgia: Pain in a muscle or group of muscles.
Hemoconcentration: Decrease in the volume of plasma in relation to the number of red blood cells; increase in the concentration of red blood cells in the circulating blood.
Hematocrit: The ratio of the volume of red blood cells to the total volume of blood.
Serum aminotransferase: Aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) are enzymes used as an indicator of liver disease.
Thrombocytopenia: Deficiency of platelets in the blood.
Leucopenia: Reduction in the number of white cells in the blood.
Hypotension: Abnormally low blood pressure.
Erythematous: Redness of the skin caused by dilatation and congestion of the capillaries.
Haemopoiesis: Production of blood cells and platelets, in the bone marrow.
RBC: Red Blood Cell.
WBC: White Blood Cell.
