How to use eye drops – Allergy Eye Drops
The procedure to use eye drops is explained in brief below:
- Wash your hands well before using eye drops to prevent any infection to the eyes. Remove the cap from the eye drops bottle.
- Lie down or tilt your head backwards.
- With the index finger of one hand, gently pull down the lower eyelid of the affected eye.
- Hold the eye drops bottle between the thumb and the index finger of the other hand.
- Gently squeeze it so that a drop falls into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Avoid touching the tip of the bottle to the eye.
- Gently close the eyes for a few minutes.
- The inner corner of the eye may be blocked for some time by pressing a finger against it to prevent the eyedrop from draining into the nose.
- Replace the cap and wash your hands again.
- Contact lenses should be removed before putting most eye drops and should be replaced after a minimum of 10 –15 minutes.(5✔ ✔Trusted Source
