Periodontal: Pertaining to the area immediately around a toothGingiva: A soft tissue layer covering the bone supporting the teeth
Candidiasis: A yeast infection caused by the fungus Candida albicans; occurs most often in the vagina, but also in the mouth, on moist skin, or on the penis
Dysplasia: Cells that look abnormal under a microscope but are not cancer
Parageusia: A bad taste in the mouth. Also called dysgeusia
Thrush: Fungus infection of the mouth
