In-patient Care (Hospitalization)

Max Bupa covers cost of medical treatment when you or your insured family members are hospitalized for treatment.

No Limit on the Hospital Room category

International Treatment support for Specified Illnesses

Max Bupa platinum customers can avail treatment abroad for 9 specified critical illnesses. They are covered if detected in India by a Medical practitioner within the policy period on cashless basis.

The specified illnesses covered are listed below:

  • Cancers like leukemia, lymphoma and sarcoma excluding all tumours in the presence of HIV infection
  • Heart Attack (Myocardial Infarction)
  • Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
  • Major Organ Transplant for heart, lung, liver, kidney, pancreas to treat irreversible end-stage failure of the relevant organ human bone marrow using haematopoietic stem cells is also covered.
  • Stroke
  • Surgery of Aorta including graft, insertion of stents or endovascular repair excluding surgery required due to underlying congenital condition.
  • Coronary Angioplasty subsequent to myocardial infarction or anginal attack.
  • Primary Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension
  • Brain Surgery

Consultation and diagnostic tests

Max Bupa shall cover reasonable and customary expenses towards consultation as an outpatient with a doctor to assess the Insured Person’s condition.

Consultation and Diagnostic Tests Carry Forward

If the Policy is renewed with us without any break and there is an unutilized amount under the applicable sub-limit in a Policy Year, then Max Bupa will carry forward 80% of this unutilized amount to the next Policy Year.

Emergency Medical Evacuation and Hospitalization

In case of a medical emergency outside India Max Bupa will provide assistance in medical evacuation of the Insured Person and cover the reasonable and customary costs of transportation of the Insured Person (and an attending Doctor if this is medically necessary)

Pre & Post Hospitalization Medical Expenses

Max Bupa shall reimburse medical expenses incurred due to illness. The period of the treatment, which Max Bupa will cover, should be 30 days before you get admitted to a hospital and 60 days after you get discharged from the Hospital, This is subject to Max Bupa accepting an Inpatient Care hospitalization claim

All Day Care Treatment Covered

Max Bupa covers all day care treatment, not just a select few. However, the treatment should not be in the outpatient department of the hospital.

Maternity Benefits

This benefit is available to an adult female covered in the plan, after three continuous premiums have been paid.

Newborn Baby

Your newborn baby will be covered as an insured person from birth without any additional premium. This is till the next renewal and will be applicable only if Max Bupa has paid the Maternity claim.

Childcare benefits

Max Bupa covers specified vaccination expenses for insured children until they have completed 12 years. Max Bupa also covers consultation for nutrition and growth provided to the child during a visit for vaccination.

Vaccination Cover

Max Bupa shall also cover vaccination expenses of the new born baby till the end of the policy year in which the baby is born and extend the vaccination expense cover till the baby completes one year, This expense is covered only if Max Bupa has accepted the baby as an insured person on renewal immediately after the delivery.

Any Age enrollment

Max Bupa covers every member of your family, irrespective of their age. i.e. from a new born child to senior citizens. There is no minimum or maximum age for enrollments.

2-year Policy Tenure Option

You can opt for 2 year tenure and avail discount.

Health Relationship Program

You are eligible for Health Relationship Program if the Policy is renewed with without any break. Under this program you may opt for any one of the following options:

  • Increase in your Sum Insured– You will get 10% additional Sum Insured each policy year of expiring base Sum Insured. Also, the additional sum insured can be accumulated upto 50% of current base sum insured.
  • Earn and Redeem - You can earn points worth 10% of your last paid annual premium after you renew your policy and these points can be redeemed on Max Bupa website for various health and lifestyle products and services.

Please note that if you select option ‘a’, you cannot go back to option ‘b’ in the next year.

Tax Benefit

You can save tax under Section 80D of the Income Tax Act when you buy a Max Bupa Health Insurance policy. Tax benefits are subject to changes in the tax laws, please consult your tax advisor for more details.

Direct Claim Settlement

Max Bupa settles your claims directly, without any third party involvement. Because in times of crisis you should concentrate only on your health rather than chasing a ‘third party’ for settlement of your claims.

Assured Policy Renewal for Life

Max Bupa assures you renewability for life. The premium does not increase even if you make a claim in the previous year. The premium is based only on your age and city of residence, rather than your claim history.

Cashless Facility

Cashless approval within 4 hours: Max Bupa provides cashless approval within 4 hours, at a network of quality hospitals.

Organ Transplant

Medical expenses for an organ donor’s treatment for harvesting of the organ are covered

Domiciliary Treatment

In case a bed in the hospital is unavailable or the patient has been advised treatment at home by the attending medical practitioner Max Bupa will pay for this medical treatment, which is taken at home.

Emergency Ambulance

Max Bupa covers costs incurred towards Emergency Ambulance. The expenses are paid once an In-patient claim has been accepted.

Free Look Period

Max Bupa endeavors for transparency and complete satisfaction and therefore, policies are simple and easy to understand. Yet if you are still not satisfied, Max Bupa provides a 15 day free look period within which you can cancel your plan by simply stating the reason.

DEAR JASLEEN KAUR claim number 50987 I AM GOING TO SEND LEGAL NOTICE TO DAMIEN MARMION AND PRITI SINGH FOR THIS HARASSMENT, MENTAL TORTURE AND MISREPRESENTATION OF YOUR KOLKATA OFFICE SINCE WHILE GETTING US ENROLLED FOR THIS POLICY YOUR EMPLOYEE MITA GUHA DID NOT GIVE US COMPLETE INFORMATION. IF THE CLAIM WAS NOT BE HONORED THEN WHY DID YOU SEEK ICP FROM ME AS I HAD TO PAY Rs. 280 TO GET EVEN THOSE PAPERS FROM THE HOSPITAL. THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS WERE PROVIDED TO MITA GUHA ON 26-08-2013 AND AS LEARNT FROM YOUR COLLEAGUES THE CLAIM WAS LODGED ON 30-08-2013. THEN IN NOVEMBER 12TH - 2013 YOU ARE ASKING FOR ICP AND RELATED PAPERS AND BEFORE THAT SOME OF YOUR COLLEAGUES ALREADY TOLD ME THAT BEFORE SUBMISSION OF ICP EVEN Rs. 67000 WAS SANCTIONED THEN HOW ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CLAIM GOT REJECTED ? WE WILL NOW MEET IN COURT OF LAW SINCE YOU FRAUDULENT PEOPLE KNOW ONLY THAT LANGUAGE. I WILL SEE TO IT THAT NO BODY DOES HEALTH INSURANCE FROM YOUR COMPANY. YOU ARE A FRAUDULENT COMPANY WHO HAVE FAILED TO HONOR CLAIM. GALL BLADDER OPERATION IS AN EMERGENCY AND THE TREATMENT NEEDED WAS UNDER EMERGENCY DO NOT COME UNDER ANY WAITING PERIOD AND HENCE WAITING PERIOD OF 90 DAYS WILL NOT BE APPLICABLE IN THIS CASE. I am a having health insurance policy from maxbupa since last three years.I am having family floter policy.Five months before when my wife was admitted in hospital for some miner operation, I was sure that as I am having an maxbupa policy they will take care of for this operation, but when I submitted my claim with all their requirements, They stared demanding additional informations.I also provided all the informations they required, but they are not settling my claim even after lapse of five months.My claim no. is 444012.Now I am start thinking that Maxbupa is a fraud Company.R K JUDAH

Recently I purchased online health Insurance from Max Bupa for my wife on 16th Feb 2013 and the insurance company had not given any documents nor health card . After several emails and remrinders they max Bupa Insurance company representative ask me to send bank statement as a proof of payment. Even after sending statement insurance company keep on saying it has been forwarded to responsible department for cancellation of my order. So until now I. E 04/04/2013 they had not processed my request for to cancel my order. This max Bupa insurance has no respect for the clients and they are following fraudulent policies with the new clients for the money. Beware all from this Max Bupa insurance company. Resident of Hyderabad .
